Mind Body Soul

Welcome to Holistic Counsellor

I am Raji Samprathi, a certified practising counsellor. In my practice, I provide you with a safe space to share your story, will listen to you with respect, empathy and without judgment and help you find your path of healing and recovery. It is your story and journey, and it would be my privilege to guide you with kindness, compassion and practical strategies towards a life filled with peace and joy.

I use an integrated approach to therapy – including the use of Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and various mindfulness practices and interventions. I am also an accredited Lifeline Crisis support telephone counsellor. Within this role I have gathered experience working with a broad spectrum of people presenting with widely diverse concerns – including money issues, relationship concerns, self-esteem, addiction, loneliness, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, suicide ideation and other mental health concerns.

I have a special interest in helping people address their long-term anxiety, chronic stress and loneliness. I am also passionate about helping people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities as I am part of this growing community.

As I am also an experienced naturopath, I bring a holistic lens to my practice. Understanding how biology interacts with psychology can be a game changer to achieve improved health outcomes. While I offer both naturopathic and counselling appointments separately, I bring insight and knowledge from both modalities into each consultation.

If you’re looking for a safe space to talk and be heard, please book an appointment by calling, emailing or using the link below. I provide counselling online and in-person.

Empathy has no script.
There is no right way or wrong way to do it.
It’s simply listening, holding space, withholding judgment,
emotionally connecting and communicating that incredibly healing message
‘you’re not alone’.

Dear Raji,

I cannot thank you enough for your calm and reassuring guidance during my health crisis. Your detailed advice on medication, diet, exercise, and stress management was a huge assuring ray of positivity when I was facing the frightening reality of a potential diabetic coma.

Your support and expertise have made an incredible difference, helping me to turn my health around in just two weeks.

Your assurance and comprehensive approach have not only alleviated my anxieties but have also set me on a path to long-term well-being. Thank you.

Mindfulness and Meditation

Mindfulness is the practice of paying gentle attention to the present moment—just as it is, without judgment. In my sessions, I guide clients to become more aware of their thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations with curiosity and kindness. This can be especially helpful when dealing with stress, anxiety, or feeling overwhelmed.

As a trained mindfulness and meditation teacher, I weave these practices into my work. Most counselling sessions end with a short guided meditation to help clients ground themselves and leave feeling calmer and more centred. I also provide simple tools and techniques so clients can begin building their own regular mindfulness practice at home. Over time, many notice a shift—increased clarity, better stress management, and a deeper sense of calm.

Lifestyle Medicine

Lifestyle Medicine is an evidence-based approach that uses simple, everyday habits to prevent, manage, and even reverse many chronic health conditions. It focuses on six key areas that deeply impact our wellbeing: nutrition, sleep, physical activity, emotional wellbeing, relationships, and reducing harmful substances. Rather than just managing symptoms, Lifestyle Medicine helps uncover and address the root causes of illness—supporting long-term, sustainable change.

As a Lifestyle Medicine Practitioner (accreditation under way), I work closely with clients to explore what’s happening in their day-to-day lives. For example, someone may be experiencing fatigue and low mood, and together we might discover that poor sleep, emotional stress, and irregular meals are playing a role. Another client might come in with high blood sugar levels, and through gentle lifestyle shifts—like improving food choices and incorporating mindful movement—we work toward better health. I also use motivational interviewing to help clients connect with their own values and strengths, making it easier to take meaningful steps toward a healthier, more balanced life.

Lifestyle Medicine naturally blends into my work as a counsellor, naturopath, and mindfulness teacher. Whether I am addressing anxiety, burnout, or physical symptoms like hormonal imbalances or digestive issues, the body and mind are always connected. This whole-person approach allows me to work on multiple levels—emotional, physical, and behavioural—so clients feel supported in a way that is both practical and compassionate.

 About Raji

Counsellor + Mental Health Educator + Naturopath + Nutritionist

My interest in health, healing, and the mind-body connection began early—in my mother and great grandmother’s kitchen in India. My great grandmother practised Ayurveda well into her 80s, and my father was a GP. I grew up surrounded by conversations about food as medicine, daily self-care rituals, and the role of spiritual practices like meditation and mindfulness in creating balance. These early influences planted the seeds for what would later become a deep passion for whole-person wellbeing.

After moving to Australia, I was drawn to study natural therapies, but over time I realised that physical health alone doesn’t tell the full story. Emotional wellbeing, thought patterns, trauma, relationships, and stress all shape our overall health. This understanding led me to train as a counsellor and mindfulness teacher, with a special interest in anxiety, stress, and emotional overwhelm. I now work at the intersection of mental health and lifestyle medicine, helping clients explore how their daily habits, environment, and internal world all influence their wellbeing.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based counselling practices. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, stress, overwhelm, and life transitions—helping them better understand their inner world and develop tools to navigate it with clarity and self-compassion. Sessions often include practical strategies drawn from mindfulness, acceptance-based therapies, CBT, and lifestyle medicine to support emotional regulation and resilience. I create a safe, supportive space where clients can slow down, feel heard, and begin to reconnect with themselves. Together, we explore what’s getting in the way of wellbeing and work toward small, meaningful changes that support both mental and physical health.

Live life as if everything is rigged in your favour
